Evie's first Christmas

What an exciting Christmas this was! It was a very busy one as always, but so much fun with our sweet Evie! We started so many new traditions that I look forward to continuing! We were able to visit with all of our family in two days! Here are some pictures from Evie's first Christmas. (Sorry ahead time...there are quite a few!)

Christmas Eve we woke up at my dad's house and celebrated with them!

After going to church on Christmas Eve we headed to my sister-in-law's house to do Christmas with Gray's family.

Sooo many presents!

Pure joy on her face...Priceless!

We ended Christmas day with family at my mom's house. It was a little different this year without my Granddaddy, but I know he was having his own celebration in heaven.

Christmas tradition. My sweet granddaddy always put these envelopes on
the tree, but since he is no longer with us my Grandma continued the
tradition. Such a sweet lady she is. Even Evie got one this year!

Six Months Old

It feels like we have reached a milestone...6 months old! Halfway to one year old! It is seriously so hard to believe that Evie just turned 6 months old. This is such a fun age because she is "talking" all the time and laughs/smiles at just about anything. She is such a happy baby and so, so sweet. She loves to be on the floor...I think she would rather be there than anywhere. She is always rolling over. We put blankets on the floor for her to roll around on and she always ends up on the carpet off the blanket. I think it might be a game for her!:)
My dad, Evie's Grand-Teddy, just bought her an Exersaucer as an early Christmas present and she LOVES it. Evie is not one to be still a lot so this type of toy is perfect for her. There are so many gadgets for her to play with so it keeps her busy and interested!
We have started Evie on more of a breakfast, lunch, dinner schedule. She is liking solid foods. Bananas and apples seem to be her favorite. She has also had peaches and sweet potatoes, but those didn't seem to be as tasty to her. She still gets her bottle feedings which she loves!!Her sleeping habits are getting better, but still not the ideal that some parents are blessed with. Every couple of nights she will wake up once and we have to go in and rock her back to sleep. It doesn't take long and it does give Gray or myself a little extra cuddle time so we are ok with that.
We haven't been to the doctor yet for her 6 month well check. I am looking forward to seeing how much she has grown, but not looking forward to those shots. She is still wearing mostly 6 month clothes and some 9 months in pants. The girl has some long legs!
Of course time seems to pass by so fast and I feel like she does something new everyday. I am trying to soak up every second I have with her because I know I  will never get this time back! I feel so lucky to have been blessed with such a sweet, loving and healthy baby girl!

It has definitely gotten harder to take a
picture of her. She did not want to sit still (kicking legs) and
please take note of the chalkboard. Every chance she
got she wiped her hand across it. :)

5 Months Old

FIVE months old...I can hardly believe it! Time is seriously flying by! I am cherishing every minute I can with her while she is still a baby. Evie is wearing mostly 6 month clothes and now in size 2 diapers. Moving up in the world! :) She is still loving rice cereal and I think would eat more if we would give it to her. I am looking forward to starting solids in the next few weeks! She LOVES a bottle and usually chugs them when we feed her. I have pretty much stopped breastfeeding/pumping. I am a little sad about this because I had really grown to enjoy my time nursing. I looked forward to that time I would have with her. I am enjoying the extra few minutes of sleep I can get now that I don't have to feed her before I go to work. Definitely a plus!
Evie is so active and alert all the time! Anytime Gray or I walk in the room she will turn her head to see us. She is going through a phase where she is a "mommy's girl" and I am TOTALLY okay with this. She has recently started reaching for me and that does it for me! My heart melts into a thousand pieces! The past couple nights she has slept through the night...FINALLY! We have had some hard times these past few weeks with her sleeping through the night so we are hoping this is here to stay! Of course when she does sleep through the night Gray and I find ourselves still waking up just to make sure she is okay!

Life with a baby

One way to describe life these days is BUSY. Between working and being a mommy there really is not time for anything else! Luckily I was able to sneak a few minutes to work on my blog while Evie is napping! Since football season has started that has consumed most of our weekends. This year of course has been a little different. We managed to make it out to one game so far, but only to tailgate. Evie LOVED it and we hope to maybe get her out to one more!

Gray and I love being parents and never thought we could possibly love something as much as we love Evie. She is the light of our lives and we just can't ever get enough of her! We cherish every moment we can with her. Leaving for work each morning is so hard, but I know it is only hours before I can pick her up and see that HUGE smile she gives me when I get there.

There have been so many exciting things going on lately with all of my friends having babies! It is so exciting to be able to raise your children with some of your best friends.  Here are some pictures of what we have been up to lately!
Another fun night with three of my favorite
ladies and babies. Evie had had enough of the
pictures.

forward to watching these two grow up together.

Four Months Old

Am I really writing a post about my baby being FOUR months old? I seriously can't believe it! Evie is growing so much and her looks are changing daily! We went to the doctor for her four month well check and we have one healthy baby girl! She weighs 14 lbs. and 5 oz. and is 25 3/4 inches long! I think we are going to have a tall little girl!

Evie is still wearing 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. She is already very active which can only mean we are going to have our hands full when she starts crawling! She has started rolling over and we were lucky enough to get a video of it! She loves to roll over from her back to her stomach, but once she is on her stomach she starts fussing because she doesn't like that as much. She can roll over from stomach to back, but that is harder for her. Evie is smiling all the time and has recently started laughing. There are only certain things that make her laugh , but once she gets going she doesn't stop. It seriously is the sweetest sound ever!!

Three Months Old

Evie celebrated her three month "birthday" this past Monday! It was shared with what would have been another special birthday...my granddaddy's 81st! We decided to celebrate by going to my granddaddy's favorite restaurant, The Kingsman, and then eating his favorite dessert...KRISPY KREME! I definitely did not need the doughnuts, but I had to have one for him and it was delicious!

It is so crazy to think Evie is already three months old...where does the time go? She is seriously changing daily and I notice it so much more now that I am back at work and not spending every second with her. It was so hard to go back to work, but thankfully Evie is in GREAT hands! I love being able to go pick her up and see that big grin when she sees me and hears my voice.

Evie is still wearing 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. She seems to be growing more lengthwise! She has the longest legs and you better believe she keeps them moving. She loves to kick and try to grab her feet. She still enjoys her play mat, but will only stay on there for about 10 minutes. It usually depends on the time of day we put her on there. She has started making more noises especially when you talk to her. They are such sweet noises! Gray and I sit and stare at her all the time. I can't help but take a million pictures...I just want to capture her at every moment possible!

I honestly never thought I could love something as much as I love her. The Lord has truly blessed us and we couldn't be more thankful!

Babies, babies and more babies

A couple of weeks ago Evie and I had a play date with three of my very best friends and two of her best friends(even if she doesn't know it yet :)! The four of us got together back in December pre-babies! We all shared due dates within a couple weeks of each other and looked forward to having our babies so close together!
We had a great time LAUGHING, eating and sharing baby stories! Thanks girls for such a fun night! Looking forward to doing it again!:)

First beach trip as a family of THREE

We took our first trip to the beach back in July. We went to Isle of Palms with my dad and step mom's family. They go every year and Gray and I try to go down for a couple of days. We weren't sure we were going to be able to go this year, but we decided to give it a try. Having a baby brings a whole other meaning to the word packing. I think Evie alone had about three bags for the four days we were going to be there. It was somewhat stressful packing everything, but we managed and had a GREAT time. It was so nice to get away and be able to relax!
Gray and I were able to go out on the beach two days without our baby girl and we took her out there one day. That was quite an experience that I don't know if I would do again until she gets older. Getting ourselves out there was the hardest part! We took a dome tent hoping she would lay in there and sleep, but the minute we put her down she woke up and wanted to be held. Gray and I took turns holding her under the umbrella! We are definitely looking forward to next year when she will really be able to enjoy the beach!
She fell asleep on the walk to the beach...so sweet!!!

She was out!

Two Months Old

Evie turned two months old on Friday, July 26th. Has it really been two months already? Time is flying by which means I am closer and closer to going back to work. :( I really can't even begin to think about that right now! The thought of not spending every day with my baby girl makes me so upset!

It seems like her looks change a little bit every day! She has grown so much in the past two months. We went to the doctor Monday and she weighs 11 pounds and is 24 inches long! She did so good at her appointment until she had to get those awful shots. That was hard for this momma to watch and hear! We are very thankful for a healthy baby girl!

Evie is now in 3 month clothes and still wears size one diapers. I  love dressing her because she looks so cute in every outfit she puts on, especially with a bow! Thankfully, her reflux is a lot better. Thank goodness for the medicine because she is a MUCH happier baby! She has started smiling a lot and there really is nothing better than when your baby smiles at you. One of her favorite things to do is lay on her play mat. She immediately starts smiling when we put her on there.
